COLLABORATIVE CLASSROOM
Our Mission
The Collaborative Classroom model is implemented across all Little Learners Academy locations. This model fosters a cooperative learning environment for children, integrating best practices and developmentally appropriate interventions and strategies. Emphasizing a growth mindset and continuous professional development, the program equips classroom teachers and staff with the tools to implement evidence based practices tailored to the diverse needs of the children under their care. The Collaborative Classroom model offers an array of family workshops covering various facets of early childhood development. Additionally, social skills groups, specialized summer programs, and community-building events are organized to enhance the Little Learners Academy Community. Collaborative family meetings are also conducted to provide families with actionable strategies for reinforcing learning at home.
CENTER BASED SUPPORTS

The Collaborative Classroom provides professional development and ongoing support across all classrooms. Each Little Learners Academy includes collaborative teams trained in various evidence-based practices to support their colleagues. These Collaborative Teams work with teachers to explore strategies for supporting children within their school.
FAMILY SUPPORTS

The Collaborative Classroom holds monthly “Coffee and Conversations” to support families on various topics. These workshops focus on strategies families can implement at home with their child. We host Social Skills Groups for children and their families. These sessions target specific strategies that mirror the evidence based practices we are using in the classroom to support social and emotional development. Collaborative Family Meetings are also available for families who may need more specific strategies.
SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS

The Collaborative Classroom runs a 6-week summer program, Get Social This Summer! This program is designed for children who would benefit from learning specific strategies to enhance their social and emotional development. This program, designed by an Early Childhood Special Educator. focuses on developing skills in turn taking, perspective taking, social problem solving and supports students in developing behavior regulation skills.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

The Collaborative Classroom also assists in hosting community events - Making Memories Events and Open Play . These events are designed to bring families and the Little Learners Academy community together to foster positive relationships.
